Who we are
We are like-minded homeowners and renters of the waterfront district in Perth Amboy, NJ. Some of us are life-long residents, some of us have just moved in, but we are all passionate about where we live.
Perth Amboy's waterfront is a walking community comprised of single family homes, rental properties, upscale condominium complexes, low income housing, churches, local businesses and an abundance of outdoor recreational spaces. We are a diverse community as well as unique. A casual stroll through our district can easily turn into a historical experience; Perth Amboy is a colonial City and its historic sites are outside our doorsteps.
1683 Society (1683s) was organized for the purpose of providing a forum through which all residents may involve themselves in addressing our quality of life on several fronts, from community enrichment to accountability. We represent the Historic, Marina and Waterfront Districts. Our role is to build a united voice for the community, to be a source of information and advocate on behalf of our residents, to promote responsible development, and to help those less fortunate.
1683s is a 501 (c) non-profit organization. It is lead by a Steering Committee rich with strong and diverse talents.
